Caroline Brooks was recently honored with the **Howard B. Kaplan Memorial Award in Medical Sociology** by the American Sociological Association (ASA) Medical Sociology Section. This award recognizes her outstanding contributions to the field, particularly her research on the health impacts of Hispanic immigrant networks.

Elizabeth Anderson was awarded the Louise Johnson Scholar Award from the American Sociological Association, Medical Sociology Section for her paper, Proximity to Maternity: How Definitions of “Deservingness” Influence Women’s Access to Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. The award honors a graduate student’s overall academic merit and the quality of a paper that advances the field of medical sociology.
