Shelley D. Arroyo (B.A. 2005) writes, “I would like to share that I have started a new job at IU Indianapolis as the inaugural Director of the Groups Scholars Program. Our first class of students arrives this summer.”
Lee Ann Chan (B.A. 2005) writes “After over a decade in recruiting, I’ve taken the leap into entrepreneurship and launched my own career coaching practice, helping professionals navigate today’s job market with clarity and confidence.
Through 1:1 coaching and live workshops, I specialize in guiding job seekers - from recent grads to senior leaders - through resume makeovers, interview prep, and networking strategies that actually work. My background in recruiting gives me an insider’s perspective on hiring, and I use that to empower clients to stand out and get results without turning their job search into a full-time job.

Mark Hoffman (B.A. 1996) writes “For the past +25 years I have been operating a small family business called Pavilion. We offer housing to students at Indiana University and the Greater Bloomington area. Additionally, we do third party management and investment services for those interesting in investing in income producing properties. My wife, Lainie (IU '96), and I live in Bloomington and have raised 2 wonderful children. Our daughter works in Denver in the non-profit world and our son is attending Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA studying Neuroscience while playing for the Men's Basketball Program.
Wisdom Ibikunle (B.A. 2024) was just awarded an NSF GRFP, and she is off to Princeton to complete her PhD in Sociology.
Tiana Iruoje (B.A. 2000) writes, “I am working on completing my doctorate in Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University while working full time as the Director of Student Engagement and Success in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington.
"In my free time you will find my husband and I cheering on my three kids either at a high school or middle school track meet, football game, or my daughter at a dance competition.
If I’m not at an event with my kids, I’m serving in the community, I’m a member of the Monroe County Community Schools Board of Trustees, Monroe County Women’s Commission, and an executive board member on the society of women engineers professional chapter.”
Marcia Ory (B.A. 1973) writes “I had a 50 year plus reunion coming back to IU to present on my favorite topics. I spent two very enjoyable days on campus and meeting faculty and students. See flyer.”
Ory was also just named American Association for the Advancement of Science fellow and is part of a Texas A&M University research team that was just awarded a $25 million state Opioid Abatement Fund Council grant to implement and evaluate multi-faceted strategies for opioid misuse prevention in youth.
Andrea Shay (B.A. 1994) writes “Hi, this is Andrea Shay nee Andrea Naegle, a proud IU Department of Sociology alumni. I am a television producer who has been living and working in Los Angeles for twenty-five years. I recently executive produced the Hulu series, "The Watchful Eye," and prior to that I produced the Netflix series, "Insatiable," as well as many others.
