Tabitha Wilbur's article, entitled "Stressed but not Depressed: A Longitudinal Analysis of First-generation College Students, Stress and Depressive Symptoms", first appeared in Social Forces in September 2021. It was quickly lauded by the American Sociology Association and receive the following recognition:

- Schuessler Graduate Research Award, Indiana University 2021
This article was later awarded the Maureen T. Hallinan Graduate Student Paper Award from the American Education Research Association (AERA) through The Sociology of Education Special Interest Group.
