Greetings from Bloomington!
There is nothing more lovely than a Midwestern college campus in the Fall. As I walk through the Bloomington campus, I admire the rich red, brown, and yellow leaves that gently rain down upon the ground. During my first visit to the IU campus in Fall 2002, I found myself in a dean’s office and I just had to stare at the beautiful autumn trees right outside the window. Later, when my daughter was a small child, we would stroll through the campus, and I’d toss her into a pile of crunchy leaves. Then, I’d follow. Teenagers no longer allow their parents to throw them into piles of leaves, but it’s a moment I’ll cherish for the rest of my days.
