I am a professor of Sociology at Indiana University, Bloomington. My interests are voting behavior, public opinion, and social policy. With Jeff Manza, I am the author of Whose Rights (2013), Why Welfare States Persist (2007), and Social Cleavages and Political Change (1999). Current projects include studies of U.S. attitudes towards inequality and towards immigrants.
