Nick Smith to receive a grant from the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy

Thursday, June 16, 2022

It is our pleasure to announce that Nick Smith is one of 25 doctoral students (from among 618 applicants) who will receive a grant from the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy for his dissertation research “Sick by Structure: Residential Segregation, Social Networks, and Racial-Ethnic Disparities in Health.”  The Horowitz Foundation provides dissertation improvement grants to students from all social science disciplines, and applicants need not be US citizens.  According to the announcement from the foundation, “The Trustees consider their work on topics of social and political importance to be vibrant examples of how policy research can help meet the challenges of today’s complex society.”  Read more about the Horowitz 2021 awardees and Nick’s research here.

Congratulations, Nick!
