  • Nick Smith To Receive Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship

Nick Smith to Receive Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship

Tuesday, March 22, 2022

We are delighted to share the news that Sociology grad Nick Smith is the recipient of a Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship. This prestigious fellowship, administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on behalf of the Ford Foundation, is awarded in a national competition limited to “Individuals with evidence of superior academic achievement (such as grade point average, class rank, honors or other designations); and Individuals committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level in the U.S.”  As a fellowship recipient, Nick will also be invited to join other fellows across the nation at the Conference of Ford Fellows, “a unique national conference of a select group of high-achieving scholars committed to diversifying the professoriate and using diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.”  Nick is eminently qualified to join this elite – and hard-working – group of honorees.

Congratulations, Nick!
