Sociology graduate student Derek Richardson received a Fulbright award to conduct research In Cambodia during the 2023-24 year. The Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board reminds us that previous Fulbright fellows include “62 Nobel Laureates, 89 Pulitzer Prize winners, 78 MacArthur Fellows and thousands of leaders across the private, public and non-profit sectors.” In addition to the Fulbright, Derek was selected to receive a 2023 National Security Education Program David L. Boren Fellowship to support his studies in Cambodia. Boren Awards fund overseas language study programs in “critical languages,” including Khmer.
