Jessica Short is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology studying the relationship between family formation behaviors and sexuality. Her dissertation uses the Relationship Dynamics and Social Life study to identify differences in the types and stability of intimate relationships that bisexual and heterosexual women have in young adulthood and to examine the long-term implications of these differences on their respective relationship quality in adulthood. Her MA thesis examined how perceptions of sub-fecundity influenced subsequent contraceptive use and pregnancy in young women.
Jessica's work has been generously supported by Indiana University's Rural Center for AIDS and STD Prevention, Indiana University’s Common Themes in Reproductive Diversity Training Group (NICHD T32), and the Irsay Institute.
