Andrew is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology who is also pursuing M.S. in Applied Statistics. Prior to starting at Indiana University, he received a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Ohio State University where he graduated with honors, summa cum laude. Andrew utilizes a variety of quantitative methods—including experimental design—in his research. He has also received training in qualitative methodology and has extensive experience as an in-depth interviewer.
Andrew is broadly interested in the Sociology of Education—including both experiences within educational settings and outcomes after educational careers. His dissertation explores public, parental, and student perceptions of the role that college plays in shaping individual life outcomes, including how student social class background, student debt, and the risk of non-completion shape these perceptions.
