Deziree Jackson studies the racial and geographic processes that shape health inequalities. Her dissertation explores how historical and contemporary racialized environments, shaped by both racism and most importantly, Black life, structure health outcomes. She identifies stress and processes of community formation as key mechanisms linking these conditions to physiological outcomes, such as biological aging.
