Soocheol is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at Indiana University. He is also pursuing a M.S. in Applied Statistics. His research agenda is motivated by the overall goal to achieve a comprehensive understanding on how cultural beliefs about gender shape inequalities. Specifically, he has interests in understanding how a violation of gendered expectations generates and exacerbates inequalities. He is also interested in when and how gender beliefs persist and change. In his work, he typically uses quantitative and experimental methods.
