Emma Thaci is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at Indiana University. Before coming to Indiana, she received her M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and her B.A. in Sociology from the Ohio State University. Her master’s thesis qualitatively examined sex education curricula and course materials used in high school classrooms, looking specifically at how normative gender roles were portrayed and/or challenged, and how the topic of consent was broached in these materials. Broadly, her research interests center around gender and sexuality, with a focus on identity and inequality.
