Department of Sociology

Jacob received his PhD from Indiana University in 2020, returning to accept a position as Lecturer in 2022.  His research, which focuses on the craft beer movement, explores the ways consumers use consumption motives to draw symbolic boundaries between themselves and other groups.

As a Lecturer, much of his attention centers on teaching and pedagogy.  He regularly attends teaching conferences and workshops and enjoys developing and experimenting with new and innovative teaching strategies and techniques.
