We offer a number of awards to undergraduates each year. These include cash awards of varying amounts that recognize the academic achievements of outstanding undergraduates.
The deadline for applications is typically in April. To learn more or apply, contact our Sociology advisor, our director of undergraduate studies, or watch for an announcement of the application deadlines.
Presentation of awards takes place at the annual Graduation Tea, scheduled for early May.
High achieving students may be recognized for Academic Honors in the College of Arts and Sciences, or be eligible for admission to the Hutton Honors College.
External Fellowship Opportunities:
There are many options available to help fund your undergraduate experience. In addition to scholarship opportunities offered by Indiana University and the College of Arts and Sciences, you might find employment in a work-study position or paid internship.
The College of Arts and Sciences, of which Sociology is a part, offers more than 350 scholarships and awards to students. Incoming students who are directly admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences with Sociology as their intended major may be eligible for a number of merit-based scholarships within the College.
High achieving students may be recognized for Academic Excellence in the College of Arts and Sciences, or be eligible for admission to the Hutton Honors College. The Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society (CRRES) also provides competitive grants up to $1500 for undergraduate research in the areas of race, migration, ethnicity, and diversity.
